Working in a manner inspired by art brut, Arnaud Caron places himself within the artivism movement, blending activist commitment with artistic creation. His work aims to spark awareness and invite viewers to react to societal issues, using humour, détournement and surprise to provoke and question.
Based in Florianópolis, on the island of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, he draws his inspiration from his immediate surroundings, particularly the beaches where he gathers driftwood and plastic waste. He recycles these materials into artworks that raise awareness of humanity’s ecological impact.
Through his work, he explores the relationship between people and their environment, bringing to light the traces left by our ways of life and inviting reflection on the future and the consequences of our actions.
